Frequently Asked Questions
What are INSET days?
INSET (In-Service Training) days are set aside for staff training and professional development. On these days, school is closed to students, but teachers and support staff use the time to develop their skills, review curriculum planning, and ensure the highest standards of teaching and care. These days are important in helping us maintain an excellent learning environment for all students.
Can term dates ever change?
While we aim to publish term dates as far in advance as possible, there may occasionally be changes due to unforeseen circumstances or updates from the local authority or Trust, although this is rare. Any changes will always be communicated to parents and carers with plenty of notice via our usual channels: email, the school website, and our parent app.
Are holiday absences authorised?
In line with government guidance, holidays during term time cannot be authorised except in exceptional circumstances. Regular attendance is vital for academic progress and personal development, and we strongly encourage families to plan holidays outside of term dates. If you believe you have exceptional circumstances, please organise to meet our headteacher via our office team by emailing info@stpaulscatholiccollege.co.uk to arrange a visit at Open Door, held in the afternoon/evening of every first Wednesday of the month.
Weather Closure Notice
Please be advised that all St Paul’s will be closed on August 29, 2025 due to hazardous weather. Remote learning will be held. Check your email for updates.
