Stay Healthy This Summer
Please find below the West Sussex guidance relating to Swine Flu:
Most people will have seen the news recently regarding swine flu and that the risk
is still being monitored and assessed. Although it is obviously a worry to people,
there are no extra precautions you need to take now to protect yourself from this,
or indeed many other illnesses, other than the normal day-to-day health measures
you should be following anyway.
We all know that 'coughs and sneezes spread diseases'. The Department of Health
has followed on from this by giving out three simple messages:
- Catch it - Germs spread easily. Always carry tissues and use them to catch your
cough or sneeze.
- Bin it - Germs can live for several hours on tissues. Dispose of your tissue as
soon as possible.
- Kill it - Hands can transfer germs to every surface you touch. Clean your hands
as soon as you can.
Good quality, simple personal hygiene measures, like the above, are the best weapons
we have against many diseases. So, by following these instructions we'll all be
going a long way towards staying healthy this summer.
