Flying High at GCSE

Students opening their results

Students and staff at St Paul’s Catholic College in Burgess Hill have been celebrating the highest ever GCSE results achieved at the College.

This year the College has exceeded its aspirational target by 7% which will place them within the top 10% of schools nationally. This led to a result of 97% A*-C, with 87% achieving these top grades with English and Maths.

Six students managed to achieve all A and A* grades in their exams:

  • Marie Carpenter 13 A* grades
  • Phil Radford 11 A* grades
  • Georgie Logue 10 A* grades
  • Maria Adlam 6 A* and 4 A grades
  • Lucy Hardy 2 A* and 8 A grades
  • Hannah Humphrey 6A* and 4 A grades

40% of all grades awarded were given the top grades of A* or A by the examiners.

Phil Radford said, “I am so pleased with my results and proud of what I have achieved. I can’t wait to carry on this success at A level in the Sixth form at St Paul’s next year.”

Rob Carter, Headteacher, said “We are over the moon with these outstanding results which are better than any we have previously achieved at St Paul’s. This is all down to the hard work and commitment of the students and the unrelenting support and dedication of the staff at the College. We look forward to many students joining us in September in the Sixth Form to continue the high achievement with us.”
