Industrial Action As you will have seen in the National Press, the National Union of Teachers (NUT) has voted for a national strike in response to the School Teachers’ Review Body’s recommended pay increase for school teachers. The industrial action will be for one day and will take place on Thursday, 24 April 2008. In common with most schools, this action will mean that we are unable to provide teaching across the whole College on that day. We have a planned revision day in the calendar for Year 11 on Thursday, so Year 11 students will be expected to attend. The majority of Year 12 and Year 13 lessons will be unaffected and so these students should attend as well. It will not be possible, though, for us to provide teaching and sufficient supervision at break time for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 and so they should remain at home for the day. J F Flower
