Year 8 Rugby Mid Sussex Tournament

The year 8 boys played in the Mid Sussex tournament on Wednesday this week. After a disappointing first match against Tanbridge, the boys rallied together to build their sense of teamwork and pushed a strong Oathall team to 10-5. A great result that built confidence for the Oakmeeds match. With commitment high, and great team play from everyone on the pitch. Two tries from Henry and Alex gave St. Paul’s a 10 point lead.

Despite a late comeback, the Oakmeeds players left second best and even more upset to know that the mighty St Paul’s had turned over every scrum in the match! With the team loud in voice and a win under their belt, they went into a tough final match against the Weald.

The group worked well, but fatigue took its toll and with no substitutes the boys were up against it. Great defence from Max and Louis stemmed the onslaught and finished the match at only 15-10 down. A good day by all accounts and some proud faces to compliment the rugby injuries!! Well done.
