| St Paul's is proud to be a part of the Eco-Schools project -- a programme designed to help reduce the environmental impact of the school on the community whilst encouraging our students to take responsibility for the future of their own environment. We are committed to the involvement of our students throughout the entire programme including the planning, monitoring, and decision-making. The Eco-Schools project offers three award levels (Bronze, Silver and Green Flag). Through the ongoing hard work of our students and staff, St Paul's have got the Bronze and silver certificates and in November 2006 we gained the first green flag. The eco-team are continuing to work on a variety of projects to ensure we achieve the second and third green flag, with the aim of getting the permanent green flag. |

Some of the regular things we do are:
- Weekly paper recycling
- Composting
- Try to reduce our paper use by using scrap paper for some tasks
- Turn off lights and interactive whiteboards in classrooms
- We have a bird feeding station and nest boxes around the school
We are currently working on the schools travel plan to see if we can get more students to arrive to school using more sustainable forms of travel. The eco-group is preparing itself for the annual Christmas card recycling competition and will be collected old mobile phones to be recycled in the New Year.
Past events include:
- Family nest-box building day
- RSPB bird watch
- Design an eco logo competition
- Planting daffodils to launch our Eco project
- Selling fair trade items
- Collecting old shoes to be sent to charity
Design Technology students have been working on a variety of eco projects this term: to find out more, click here.
